An ATS (Applicant Tracking System) is the software companies use to receive, store and filter applications. It reads your resume file, extracts the text and splits it into fields (contact details, experience, education, skills), and recruiters search and filter on those fields. If the text is extracted wrongly, your resume can show up incomplete or be missing from recruiter searches.

Common causes are multi-column layouts, tables, text inside images or text boxes, contact details in the header or footer, and unusual section names such as "My journey" instead of "Experience". The parser reads top to bottom, so the order gets scrambled or content disappears. A single-column resume with standard headings avoids most of these problems.

Take them from the job posting: the skills, tools and certifications listed as requirements or repeated several times. Use the posting's exact wording, for example "Google Analytics" if that is how it appears, and place the word in your experience bullets, where it shows how you used it. Add only what you have actually used.

For AI features, the relevant resume text goes to Anthropic (US) only to generate the result, without your name or email, and Anthropic does not use API data for model training by default. Database access is restricted with row-level security policies and traffic is encrypted with TLS. You can export or delete your data from your account.
